Job summary

Infosys is seeking a Cost Engineer with 3–8 years of experience to drive cost optimization across automotive, medical, or energy domains in Bengaluru. You will perform should-cost analyses, cost breakdowns of complex assemblies, and work with suppliers to validate and reduce product costs.

The role requires strong knowledge of electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes, plus experience with cost modeling tools and leading VAVE workshops to uncover savings opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–8 years in cost engineering, preferably in automotive, Medical or energy domains.
• Strong knowledge of electromechanical systems and manufacturing processes.
• Experience in costing of mechanical parts & assemblies involving stamping, injection molding, die casting, forging, machining and secondary finishing processes.
• Experience with VAVE, cost modeling tools, and supplier negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Perform Product Teardown & Should-cost analysis for Automotive / Energy equipments & Tool/ Dies/Mold Costing etc.
• Lead VAVE workshops to identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Collaborate with design, sourcing, and suppliers to optimize product cost
• Support new product development with early cost estimation
• Analyze supplier quotes and manufacturing processes for cost validation
• Drive supply chain cost reduction and localization strategies
