Job summary

A2MAC1 in India is seeking a seasoned Cost Engineer to join our product development team. You will analyze cost parameters, perform BOM cost calculations, and propose target costs to optimize value across Thermal, Chassis, and Battery systems.

The role requires 5+ years in cost engineering or related fields, strong knowledge of manufacturing cost drivers, and excellent communication. You will collaborate with suppliers, OEMs, and internal teams to drive DtC/VAVE ideas and cost reduction.

Qualifications

• More than 5 years of experience in Product Development, Cost Engineering, Purchasing, SQE/STA, Lean Manufacturing or Value Engineering.
• Experience across Thermal Management Systems (HVAC, Cabin Heating, Water Cooling, Refrigerant Systems, Thermal Modules).
• Experience across Chassis Systems (Suspension, Steering, Braking, Wheels & Tires, Subframes, Control Arms, Knuckles).
• Experience across Battery Systems (Battery Pack, BMS, Cell/Module/Pack, CTP, HV Components).
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and cost drivers in TMS, chassis, and battery domains.
• Experience in BOM cost calculation or VAVE from supplier chain, material and processes.
• English written & oral; overseas study experience is a plus.
• Bachelor or above in mechanical, electronics, industrial engineering or related area.
• Good communication skills and teamwork spirit.
• Strong adaptability and innovative spirit

1.Generate technical insights report, costing calculation and report, DtC/VAVE ideas and report as per the tasks assigned by manager and according to required quality standards

Qualifications and skills

1. More than 5 years of experience/knowledge in the following domains, with experience in Product Development, Cost Engineering, Purchasing, SQE/STA, Lean Manufacturing, or Value Engineering:

• Thermal Management Systems (TMS): Air Conditioning (HVAC), Cabin Heating, Water Cooling, Refrigerant Systems, Thermal Modules.
• Chassis Systems: Suspension, Steering, Braking, Wheels & Tires, Subframes, Control Arms, Knuckles, Cross Members.
• Battery Systems: Battery Pack, Battery Management System (BMS), Cell/Module/Pack, Cell-to-Pack (CTP), Battery Thermal Management, High-Voltage (HV) Components.

2.Strong knowledge of manufacturing technologies and cost drivers for the following domains:

• Thermal Management Systems (TMS): Brazing, Aluminum Tube/Forming, Heat Exchanger Manufacturing, Plastic Injection Molding, TMS-related Electronics, Assembly Processes, Manufacturing Costing.
• Chassis Systems: Welding, Precision Machining, Casting, Forging, Stamping, Hydroforming, Surface Treatment/Coating, Assembly Technologies, Manufacturing Costing.
• Battery Systems: Cell, Module & Pack Assembly, Laser Welding, Busbar Joining, Extrusion, Die Casting, Adhesive Bonding, Potting, Battery Enclosure Manufacturing, HV Electronics Manufacturing, Manufacturing Costing.

3.Experience on BOM cost calculation or VAVE from supplier chain, material and manufacturing process

4.English written & oral, overseas study experience is a plus

5.Bachelor or above degree in mechanical, electronics, industrial engineering or related area
