Job summary

Detroit Engineered Products (DEP) in India is seeking a skilled Sheetmetal/BIW design engineer to drive development of sheetmetal and BIW components. You will apply CATIA V5/V6, GD&T, and 3D/2D drawings to create robust designs that meet manufacturing constraints.

Candidates should have completed at least one NPD project, strong teamwork, and the ability to work under dynamic requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Proficient in Catia V5/V6 for designing sheetmetal/BIW components.
• Experience delivering at least one New Product Development project.
• Strong knowledge of GD&T and 2D/3D drawings creation.
• Ability to work independently with sheetmetal parts and lead a team.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheetmetal/BIW parts and assemblies.
• Create and validate 2D drawings and 3D models per design rules.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing requirements.
• Support continuous improvement of product design and processes.

• Excellent Catia V5/V6 Skills
• Should have completed at least 1 New Product Development project
• Hands on experience in design and development of Sheetmetal/BIW parts.
• Good Knowledge on product and manufacturing process
• Good Communication skills
• Knowledge of GD&T & hands on experience on 2D/3D Drawings creation required.
• Ability to work /handle parts / Team & sheetmetal commodity Independently.
• Able to interact, analyze and create parts as per design Rules & requirements.
• Good Team Player /Lead and flexible to work in any streams of work as per dynamic requirement that may change from time to time
  Should be able to understand and willing to work under any challenging and tough environments
• Aid team improving the performance and efficiency of existing product design.
