Job summary

SYSTRA invites applications for the role of Design Manager (MEP) for the New Delhi Railway station redevelopment project, based in New Delhi. You will lead MEPF design across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and BMS, coordinating with architects, consultants, and contractors.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years total experience, with 5+ years in a similar role for a Master’s in Mechanical Engineering; PhD in design systems is preferred.

Qualifications

• Total 10+ years of experience; 5+ years in a similar role for Master’s in Mechanical Engineering.
• PhD preferred with specialization in design (Systems).

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to develop comprehensive MEPF design plans.
• Provide technical expertise and oversight from design through commissioning.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies for MEPF systems.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with stakeholders to ensure alignment on MEPF requirements.
• Promote safety and compliance with health, safety, and environmental regs and standards.

Job description

We are seeking applications for the position of Design Manager (MEP) for New Delhi Railway station redevelopment project based at New Delhi.

Role & responsibilities

• Collaborate with architects, consultants, and contractors to develop comprehensive design plans for MEPF systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, and building management systems (BMS). Ensure systems are designed to meet project requirements, local regulations, and industry standards.
• Provide technical expertise and oversight throughout all phases of the project, from design development to construction and commissioning. Review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project standards.
• Identify potential risks and challenges related to MEPF systems and develop proactive strategies to mitigate them. Monitor project activities to identify and address any issues that may impact the performance or reliability of building systems.
• Facilitate coordination meetings with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, contractors, and clients, to ensure alignment on systems-related requirements and objectives. Provide regular updates and reports on the status of MEPF activities and milestones.
• Promote a culture of safety and compliance with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards. Ensure that MEPF systems are installed and operated in accordance with applicable codes and best practices.
• Ensure the safety compliances, conduct safety training as per group policy mainly 3S training.
• Ensure every team member must have gone through Business Ethics and compliance training
• Ensure every project member has knowledge of Environment policy of company.
• Ensure each member of team has gone through 9 lifesaving rules
• Everyone had gone through the Anti-Corruption training

Preferred candidate profile

• Having total 10 plus years' experience and Minimum 5 plus years in similar position for Master (Mechnical Engineering) +PhD Preferred - with Specialization in design(System).
• Having total 8 plus years' experience in similar project
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse organization, recognizing and respecting differences.
• Ability to problem solve, especially in an integrated project delivery environment, applying industry best practices.
• Ensure compliance of the Systra Group policies, particularly on ethics, safety and adherence to Company ISO 9001 and 14001 Standards.
