Job summary

Raheja Universal is seeking a Manager MEP (Design) to lead the design, coordination, and optimization of all MEP systems across diverse real estate projects in Mumbai. You will drive end-to-end design, review drawings and calculations, and ensure NBC/compliance.

The role requires 10–16 years in MEP design and 4–6 years in a leadership role, with strong HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV expertise and BIM (Revit) experience. AutoCAD proficiency and vendor coordination are essential.

Qualifications

• BE/B.Tech in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering; postgraduate preferred.
• 10–16 years of experience in MEP design.
• Minimum 46 years in a leadership/managerial role
• Mandatory: Real estate / developer experience

Responsibilities

Role Overview

The Manager MEP (Design) will be responsible for leading the design, coordination, and optimization of all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across residential, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality, cost-effective, and compliant MEP designs aligned with project timelines and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. MEP Design & Planning

• Lead end-to-end MEP design (HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting, ELV systems) across projects.
• Review and validate design drawings, calculations, layouts, and specifications.
• Ensure optimum design solutions balancing cost, efficiency, and sustainability.
• Drive value engineering initiatives without compromising quality and compliance.

2. Consultant & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with MEP consultants, architects, and structural teams for integrated design delivery.
• Review consultant submissions and ensure adherence to project requirements and timelines.
• Act as the key interface between internal teams and external consultants/vendors.

3. Project Coordination

• Work closely with Projects, Procurement, and Execution teams for seamless design-to-execution transition.
• Support site teams in resolving design-related issues during execution.
• Conduct regular design review meetings and track progress.

4. Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure MEP designs comply with NBC, local regulations, fire norms, and statutory approvals.
• Maintain design standards, best practices, and documentation.
• Ensure adherence to sustainability standards (IGBC/LEED certification where applicable).

5. Costing & Budget Control

• Support preparation of MEP BOQs and project budgets.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities during design stages.
• Review vendor proposals from a technical perspective.

6. Innovation & Technology

• Drive adoption of new technologies, energy-efficient systems, and smart building solutions.
• Encourage BIM-based design integration and coordination.

Candidate Profile

Qualification

• B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
• Postgraduate qualification (preferred but not mandatory)

Experience

• 1016 years of experience in MEP design
• Minimum 46 years in a leadership/managerial role
• Mandatory: Real estate / real estate developer experience

Technical Skills

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Fighting & ELV systems
• Expertise in design codes and standards (NBC, IS codes, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD; exposure to BIM (Revit) preferred
• Strong understanding of value engineering and cost optimization
