KPC Projects Hyderabad is seeking a senior MEP professional to lead end-to-end MEP execution for a major railway station redevelopment project, delivering works as per drawings, specs, schedules and safety norms.   • Ability to read MEP drawings, shop drawings and specifications.

  • Coordinate with multiple MEP agencies, subcontractors and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, BOQ and project schedule.
  • Oversee electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, fire fighting and related interfaces.
  • Coordinate interface with civil, structural, ELV, safety and finishing teams.
  • Lead testing, commissioning and handover activities to the client.

Job description

Job Purpose

To lead and manage the complete MEP services execution for the Railway Station Redevelopment Project, ensuring timely completion of works in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, project schedules, quality standards, safety requirements, and Railway/Statutory norms.

Key Responsibilities
1. MEP Execution
  • Overall responsibility for execution of Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) services at the project site.
  • Plan, supervise and monitor MEP works from installation through testing, commissioning and handover.
  • Ensure execution is carried out as per approved GFC drawings, specifications, BOQ, method statements and project schedule.
  • Coordinate multiple MEP agencies, subcontractors, vendors and site teams.
2. Electrical Services
  • Supervise execution of HT/LT electrical systems, transformers, DG sets, HT/LT panels, MDB/SMDB/DBs and associated systems.
  • Coordinate installation of cable trays, conduits, cables, earthing and lightning protection systems.
  • Monitor installation of lighting, emergency lighting, faade lighting and station‑area electrical systems.
  • Coordinate UPS, battery systems and other essential power backup arrangements.
3. HVAC & Mechanical Services
  • Manage HVAC works including chillers/VRF/VRV/AHU systems, ducting, ventilation and associated piping.
  • Supervise ventilation and exhaust systems for station buildings and other project facilities.
  • Coordinate installation, testing and balancing of HVAC systems.
  • Ensure proper integration of HVAC controls/BMS with other building services.
4. Plumbing & Fire‑Fighting Services
  • Manage water supply, drainage, sewage, storm‑water and related plumbing services.
  • Supervise fire‑fighting systems including fire pumps, tanks, hydrants, sprinklers, fire piping and fire alarm interfaces.
  • Ensure testing and commissioning of fire‑fighting and plumbing systems as per approved requirements.
5. Railway StationSpecific MEP Coordination
  • Coordinate MEP services for station buildings, platforms, concourse areas, circulation areas, waiting halls, offices, commercial areas, parking and other associated facilities.
  • Ensure proper coordination of MEP services with railway operational requirements and station redevelopment activities.
  • Coordinate service requirements related to lifts/escalators, passenger facilities, public areas and other specialist systems.
  • Interface with Railway authorities, PMC/Consultants and other stakeholders for MEP‑related requirements.
6. Coordination & Interface Management
  • Coordinate closely with Civil, Structural, Architectural, ELV, Fire & Safety, Security and Finishing teams.
  • Review MEP drawings and identify clashes/conflicts before execution.
  • Coordinate with BIM/Design teams for clash detection and resolution wherever applicable.
  • Ensure proper provision of sleeves, openings, shafts, trenches and embedded items before civil works progress.
7. Planning & Progress Monitoring
  • Prepare detailed MEP execution plans and work schedules in line with the overall project programme.
  • Monitor daily, weekly and monthly progress against planned targets.
  • Identify delays, constraints and resource requirements and take corrective actions.
  • Coordinate manpower, materials, equipment and subcontractor deployment.
8. Quality Control
  • Ensure MEP works comply with approved specifications, relevant IS codes, NBC, Railway standards, fire and statutory requirements.
  • Review inspection requests, material approvals, testing procedures and quality documentation.
  • Ensure proper testing, inspection and commissioning of all MEP systems.
  • Coordinate rectification of NCRs, quality observations and inspection comments.
9. Testing, Commissioning & Handover
  • Develop and monitor testing and commissioning plans for all MEP systems.
  • Coordinate integrated testing of various systems.
  • Ensure preparation of as‑built drawings, O&M manuals, test certificates, warranties and commissioning reports.
  • Lead final inspection, snag clearance and handover of MEP systems to the client/consultant.
10. Commercial & Contract Management
  • Review MEP BOQ, quantities, scope and specifications.
  • Monitor subcontractor measurements, work progress and billing.
  • Assist in identifying variations, additional works and potential claims.
  • Ensure effective control of MEP material consumption and project costs.
11. Safety
  • Ensure strict compliance with project HSE requirements during MEP execution.
  • Ensure safe working practices for electrical, lifting, working at height, hot work and other MEP activities.
  • Coordinate with the HSE team for risk assessments, permits and safety inspections.

Required Experience & Skills
  • 15–20 years of overall experience, preferably with 8+ years in MEP execution of large‑scale building/infrastructure projects.
  • Experience in Railway Station, Airport, Metro, Commercial Building, Hospital, Institutional or other large infrastructure projects will be highly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of MEP execution, coordination, testing and commissioning.
  • Good understanding of NBC, relevant IS codes, fire safety requirements and statutory compliances.
  • Experience in managing MEP subcontractors and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Strong planning, coordination, problem‑solving and leadership skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret MEP layouts, shop drawings, SLDs, schematics, coordinated drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; knowledge of Revit/BIM and MS Project/Primavera will be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder‑management skills.

  • MEP works completed as per approved project schedule.
  • Achievement of weekly/monthly execution targets.
  • Quality and reduction of MEP rework/NCRs.
  • Timely testing and commissioning of systems.
  • Effective subcontractor and manpower management.

  • Compliance with safety and statutory requirements.
  • Timely submission of as‑built drawings and handover documentation.
Ideal Candidate Profile:

A senior MEP professional with 15–20 years of hands‑on experience in large‑scale building/infrastructure projects, preferably having executed complex Railway/Metro/Airport/Institutional projects, with strong capability in MEP coordination, site execution, subcontractor management, testing & commissioning and client/consultant coordination.
