Job summary

First Source Energy India invites a DESIGN ENGINEER (SOLAR PV SYSTEM) with 2–6 years of experience to join our Indore-based team. You will design On-Grid and Off-Grid solar PV systems, lead a 3–5 engineer group, and optimize BOS, BOM, and MIS reporting for project execution.

Proficiency in AutoCAD and tools like PVSyst, PV Sol, RetScreen, SAM and Meteonorm is required, along with strong teamwork and communication with overseas partners. Prior experience in vendor vetting is a plus.

Qualifications

• 2–6 years of experience in solar power sector (Off-Grid/ On-Grid).
• Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Power Electronics.
• Experience in BOS selection and BOM finalization.

Responsibilities

• Design On-Grid and Off-Grid solar PV systems.
• Lead a team of 3–5 engineers.
• Perform BOM selection and vendor vetting.
• Prepare MIS reports and update execution schedules.
• Ensure wiring sizing and energy optimization.

DESIGN ENGINEER (SOLAR PV SYSTEM) - The Leading Solar Magazine In India

Job description:
Exp: 2-6 years; Candidate with Bachelor/ Master Degree in Electrical/Electronic/ Power electronics with atleast 2+ year of experience in solar power sector (Off-Grid/ On-Grid).

Responsible for designing On-Grid & Off-Grid solar PV systems and managing a team of 3 to 5 engineers responsible for the system design.Must have very good knowledge of various balance of systems (BOS) used in solar power system.

Knowledge of AutoCAD to draw electrical diagrams, layouts, shading analysis, etc.Good understanding of NEC articles related to Solar PV system design & Indian Standard for electrical installations in power system etc.

Design documentation & making required changes as per the site conditions.Wire sizing and ways to maximize power generation from a utility scale solar power plant.

Preference to be given to a candidate with the following experience-Candidate with good knowledge of solar PV system (off-grid/on-grid).

Selection & Understanding of the Balance of Systems (BOS) and its operations.

Experience in selection and finalizing bill of materials (BOM).MIS reporting & making required changes to the execution schedule.

Software skills- MS Projects, Power point, Excel, PVSyst, PV Sol, RetScreen, SAM, Meteonorm, etc..Vendor vetting.

Ability to set and manage priorities to achieve the goals as per the schedule.

Ability to work in a team, and communicate with overseas business partners.

Flexibility to adapt to unexpected situations.Good troubleshooting & analytical capability.

Capability of managing continuous off-grid design work along with Megawatt scale power projects.
