Job summary

Talconnect Services seeks an Electrical Design Engineer to support the Engineering Head on electrical design for refinery/oil & gas projects. The role covers FEED, proposals/tenders and detailed engineering.

You will develop electrical design basis, SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, datasheets and specifications, and perform power-system studies using ETAP/PSCAD. Coordination with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping, Civil, Structural and HSE teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Exposure to FEED, proposals/tenders and detailed engineering in refinery/oil & gas projects.
• Experience with IEC, IEEE, ATEX, NEC, NFPA, API and IOGP standards.
• Participation in design reviews and client/vendor technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Assist Engineering Head in all matters related to Electrical Design Engineering.
• Prepare electrical design basis, SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, datasheets and specs.
• Carry out equipment and cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations.
• Perform power-system studies using ETAP/PSCAD or equivalent.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping, Civil, Structural and HSE teams.
• Review vendor offers and conduct Technical Bid Evaluations (TBE).
• Support commissioning/start-up and troubleshooting as needed.

Job description

Role

The incumbent will help the Engineering Head in all matters related to Electrical Design Engineering for projects in Refinery / Oil & Gas Sector

covering FEED, proposals/tenders and detailed engineering.

Areas of Exposure:

• Electrical Design Basis, SLDs, load lists, cable schedules, datasheets and specifications
• Equipment sizing, cable sizing, earthing and lighting calculations
• Power-system studies using ETAP / PSCAD or equivalent load flow, short circuit, motor starting, harmonics, arc flash, transient/dynamic stability and protection coordination
• Vendor offer/document review and TBE (Technical Bid Evaluation)
• Coordination with Process, Mechanical, Instrumentation, Piping, Civil, Structural and HSE disciplines
• Familiarity with relevant IEC, IEEE, ATEX, NEC, NFPA, API and IOGP standards
• Participation in design reviews and client/vendor technical discussions
• Exposure to commissioning /start-up /troubleshooting would be useful.

Preferred candidate profile

The candidate should be B.E. / B.Tech. in Electrical Engineering with 7 to 15 years experience in Design Engineering and exposure in Refinery Projects / Oil & Gas Sector
