Job summary

Quest Global is seeking an Electrical Lead with 9+ years of Oil & Gas experience to design MV/LV systems, prepare SLDs and wiring diagrams, and coordinate across disciplines. You will oversee load lists, protective schemes, and substations while guiding junior engineers on complex projects.

Responsibilities include vendor draw-ing reviews, FAT/SAT coordination, and on-site commissioning support to ensure project delivery aligns with international codes and standards.

Qualifications

• Design experience in MV/LV systems and associated equipment (SLD, Load List, Switchgear, MCC, Motors, UPS).
• Preparation of Electrical Load List, SLDs, Schematics and Wiring Diagrams; detail/re-detail designs.
• Cables sizing, equipment layout, earthing and lighting protection; short circuit and voltage drop calculations.

Responsibilities

• Prepare technical documents like equipment specifications and datasheets.
• Create cable tray/conduit layouts and substation power distribution schemes.
• Review vendor drawings and participate in technical bid evaluations.

Job Description: Electrical Lead

Knowledge & Skills requirements:

• Design experience in MV/LV system and associated equipment/design (SLD, Load List, Switchgear, MCC, Motors, UPS, Control Panels, Junction Boxes, BOQ).
• Responsible for preparation of Electrical Load List, Electrical Single Line Diagrams, Electrical Schematics and Wiring Diagrams and also in modification and re-detailing on Electrical Design
• Experienced in Cable Sizing and Selection, Equipment Layout Design, Earthing & Lighting Protection Design, Short Circuit & Voltage Drop Calculations.
• Preparation of Technical Documents like Equipment Specifications/Datasheets.
• Preparation of Cable Tray/Conduit laying and installation drawings. Ability to develop various substation and power distribution scheme single line diagram.
• Substation design Scope of Work and specifications development
• Perform preliminary studies for grounding, lightning protection, arc flash hazard, and other studies required for substation design.
• Experience in Design calculations for Transformer, Generator
• Review of Vendor Drawings and Technical Bid Evaluation/Approval
• Experienced in coordinating with Piping/Mechanical/Instrumentation designer for Electrical Design Interface details
• Preferable - Experienced in assisting during installation, testing and commissioning of Electrical System Equipment at site and coordinating with other discipline to support in project work completion
• Knowledge of required tests to be performed for electrical Equipment. Eg : FAT and SAT
• Familiar with International Codes and Standards : ISA, IEC, CSA, NEC(NFPA70), BS
• Familiar with Equipment Selection, Electrical Design Guidelines requirements around Electrical Area Classification in Oil and Gas industry
• Familiarity with instrumentation and process control design for Oil and Gas industry
• Familiarity with Upstream/Midstream/Downstream design/engineering processes for Oil and Gas industry
• Advanced competency with AutoCAD 2D is must, AutoCAD 3D capability would be an added advantage
• Experience of using engineering tool ETAP/SKM for power system analysis would be an added advantage
• Experienced in Lighting design softwares like Dialux
• Team player, should work together with other Technical disciplines in order to achieve Integrated project Execution
