Job description

Lead Electrical Engineer

Location: Mumbai, Vadodara

Qualifications

• B.Tech / B.E. in Electrical Engineering
• 12‑15 years of experience in electrical design, with at least 5 years in downstream oil & gas projects (refineries, petrochemicals)
• Experience in HV, MV, LV & ELV system design; oil & gas and chemical industry; green field and brown field projects
• Exposure to overseas projects (USA, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Gulf)
• Knowledge of HT & LT system design, switchyard/substation design, hazardous area requirements, heat tracing, cathodic protection
• Proficiency with ETAP / SKM or equivalent for load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash analysis
• Familiarity with 3D CAD platforms (PDMS, E3D, SP3D)
• Experience preparing and reviewing single line diagrams, load lists, electrical equipment specifications, budgets, tender documents, BOQ, ELV designs
• Experience with procurement deliverables (material requisition, TBE, purchase requisition, vendor drawing review and approvals)
• Ability to estimate cost of electrical equipment and bulk items
• Strong leadership skills – leading teams, coordinating onsite/offshore, client coordination
• Effective communication in English (verbal and written)

Responsibilities

1. Lead multiple projects and teams.
2. Handle green field and brown field projects.
3. Manage international projects (USA, Canada, Europe, Singapore, Gulf).
4. Oversee HT & LT system design, switchyard and substation design.
5. Prepare and review single line diagrams and load lists.
6. Prepare and review electrical equipment specifications, datasheets, design basis, and philosophies.
7. Prepare and review electrical layouts.
8. Prepare and review electrical calculations.
9. Prepare and review tender documents and BOQ.
10. Prepare and review ELV system design.
11. Prepare, review and approve procurement deliverables: material requisition, TBE, purchase requisition, vendor drawing review and approvals.
12. Estimate cost for electrical equipment and bulk items.
13. Apply knowledge of hazardous area requirements, heat tracing, cathodic protection, etc.
14. Use ETAP/SKM or equivalent for load flow, short circuit, motor starting, relay coordination, arc flash analysis.
15. Perform FAT / SAT of electrical equipment.
16. Apply working knowledge of 3D platform engineering (PDMS, E3D, SP3D, etc.).
17. Understand various domains in oil & gas and chemical industries.
18. Resolve construction site issues.
19. Coordinate onsite/offshore teams.
