Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services invites applications for a Design Engineer role based in Pune, India. The candidate should have 5–10 years of experience in automotive plastic interior parts design, with hands-on expertise in UG NX or CATIA, surfacing, sheet metal, BIW design, and casting design.

Exposure to DFMEA, tooling, packaging, layouting, and tolerance stack-ups is required. Strong knowledge of part and assembly drawing release (Teamcenter) and ability to manage large product assemblies and

Role: Design Engineer

Required Technical Skill Set: UG NX or CATIA, Plastic design (Interior or Exterior parts), Sheet metal (BIW design) and Casting design product knowledge

Desired Experience Range: 5-10 yrs

Location of Requirement: Pune

Must-Have

• Experience in Automotive plastic (Interior parts), some exposer to Sheet metal (BIW) and casting product design
• Expertise in UG NX or CATIA workbenches (Solid Modeling, Surfacing, Sheet-metal, Assembly and Drawing)
• Expertise in advance Surfacing
• Expertise in DFMEA, Tooling, Packaging, Lay-outing, fixation strategy.

Good-to-Have

• Automotive Interior, Exterior and BIW parts design Experience

• Good (verbal/written) Communication Skills
• Knowledge of injection molding, Sheet metal processes and other manufacturing processes, Material, and defects
• Expertise in BOM preparation
