ASM Technologies in Bangalore is seeking a Design Engineer - CATIA, Plastics, Sheetmetal with 5-9 years of hands-on experience to translate customer requirements into robust engineering solutions.

The role emphasizes DFMEA, GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, material understanding, and cross-functional collaboration to deliver safe, manufacturable designs such as plastics and sheetmetal components.

Qualifications

• Good manufacturing knowledge in Plastics and Sheetmetal parts.
• Proficiency in CAD tool CATIA-V5 is must. (Part Modelling, GSD, Drafting, Assembly)
• Strong knowledge of DFMEA, tolerance stack-up analysis, GD&T, and general mechanical design principles. Knowledge of DFM/DFA principles and design optimization techniques.
• Good understanding of materials, manufacturing processes, and product validation methods.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
• Experience in design & development of Safety critical parts incl. Steering wheels, Airbags, etc., (added advantage)
• Basic understanding of simulation or CAE tools (added advantage).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, specifications, and reports.
• Provide technical support to customers and internal stakeholders throughout the product lifecycle.
