Job summary

Viva Composite Panel in Mumbai HO is seeking a Design Engineer with hands-on experience in sheet metal, weldment, structural design, and manufacturing/fabrication. The ideal candidate should understand materials, FEA simulations, and design optimization for manufacturability.

The role involves creating sheet metal and welded designs, performing advanced CAD work, coordinating with fabrication teams, and ensuring production-ready drawings and specs.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of Sheet Metal Design and Engineering.
• Advanced experience in 3D Solid Modelling / CAD.
• Good knowledge of Weldment Design and fabrication processes.
• Understanding of Aluminium, Stainless Steel, Mild Steel, and other engineering alloys.
• Strong understanding of material properties and thickness selection.
• Knowledge of structural stability, load and stress analysis.
• Working knowledge of FEA / Structural Simulation.
• Knowledge of wind load and pressure analysis.
• Experience in panel, frame, and stiffness design.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
• Ability to optimize designs for strength, performance, weight and cost.

Responsibilities

• Develop and modify sheet metal and welded component designs per project requirements.
• Handle advanced solid modelling and engineering design activities.
• Design and develop structural frames, panels, and supporting structures.
• Perform/coordinate FEA and structural simulations to validate designs.
• Analyze metal properties, material thickness, load, and stress conditions.
• Evaluate structural stability, load-bearing capacity, and stress distribution.
• Work on wind load / pressure analysis wherever applicable.
• Develop designs considering strength, stiffness, durability, and weight optimization.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and fabrication teams to ensure designs are practical and production-ready.
• Apply Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles to optimize designs and reduce manufacturing complexities.
• Identify opportunities for design optimization and cost reduction.
• Prepare and maintain engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
