Job summary

Wingstair Elevators Pvt. Ltd. in Pune invites applications for a Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in sheet metal design and fabrication. You will create 3D models, manufacturing drawings and BOMs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD to support production.

The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of mechanical design experience, familiarity with laser cutting, bending, welding and assembly, and a strong grasp of GD&T and tolerances. Elevators components or industrial fabrication exposure is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design, sheet metal and fabrication.
• Proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD for 3D modeling and drawings.
• Experience with sheet metal processes such as laser cutting, bending, welding, fabrication and assembly.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances and engineering standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal and fabricated components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare 3D models, manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings and BOMs.
• Develop fabrication drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, machining and assembly.
• Ensure designs meet manufacturing capabilities, quality standards and customer specs.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication and quality teams to resolve issues.
• Optimize designs for cost, manufacturability and performance.
• Review engineering changes and update drawings/documentation.
• Support prototype development and production implementation.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with experience in sheet metal design and fabrication. The ideal candidate should be proficient in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, capable of creating manufacturing drawings, 3D models, and supporting production with technically accurate designs. Experience in elevator components or industrial fabrication is an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop sheet metal and fabricated components using SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
• Prepare 3D models, detailed manufacturing drawings, assembly drawings, and BOMs.
• Develop fabrication drawings for laser cutting, bending, welding, machining, and assembly.
• Ensure designs comply with manufacturing capabilities, quality standards, and customer specifications.
• Coordinate with production, fabrication, and quality teams to resolve design-related issues.
• Optimize existing designs for cost reduction, manufacturability, and performance.
• Review engineering changes and update drawings/documentation accordingly.
• Support prototype development and production implementation.
• Maintain engineering documentation and revision control.

Required Skills

• Strong knowledge of SolidWorks (Parts, Assemblies, Sheet Metal, Weldments, Drawings).
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D drafting).
• Good understanding of sheet metal processes including:
• Laser cutting
• CNC bending
• Welding
• Fabrication
• Assembly
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, and engineering standards.
• Ability to prepare BOMs and manufacturing documentation.
• Understanding of material selection and fabrication techniques.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
• 2 - 4 years of experience in mechanical design, sheet metal, and fabrication.
• Experience with elevator components, industrial equipment, or heavy fabrication will be an advantage.
