Job summary

Socomec Group in India is seeking a senior design engineer to lead end-to-end development of heavy adapted products, translating customer requirements into safe, reliable engineering solutions, and ensuring compliance with IEC/EN standards and CE documentation.

You will prepare BOMs, data plates, and production cycles, coordinate product qualification tests, support presales with feasible proposals, manage supplier relationships, and drive continuous improvement through standardisation and

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design of heavy adapted products, including solution selection, component sizing, and technical validation.
• Translate customer functional requirements into safe, reliable, cost-effective, and producible engineering solutions.
• Ensure compliance with applicable IEC/EN standards, destination-country requirements, product markings, and CE documentation.
• Prepare and maintain product codification, bills of materials, data plates, production cycles, technical files, and customer documentation.
• Define, coordinate, and validate product qualification tests conducted internally or through external suppliers and laboratories.
• Assess technical feasibility and support presales teams in developing competitive proposals aligned with product strategy.
• Manage suppliers with Purchasing, including technical specifications, supplier and product qualification, and component obsolescence.
• Drive continuous improvement through technical scouting, solution standardisation, design guidelines, knowledge sharing, and training.
