Job summary

Ovivo India is seeking a Design Engineer to perform project-specific design work within budget and to meet customer specifications. You will support sales and marketing with technical input and contribute to product improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate holds a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering with 3–7 years of experience using Autodesk Inventor or similar 3D modeling tools, and demonstrates strong communication in English. Knowledge of fabrication processes is a plus.

Qualifications

• B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3–7 years of experience in Autodesk Inventor or other 3D modeling software.
• Ability to read, understand and create specifications and drawings.
• Strong math and technical aptitude for complex problems.
• Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and other MS Office programs.
• Advanced English communication (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Perform engineering and design work for project-specific tasks within budget.

• Create 3D models, drawings, and fabrication layouts for GA, welding, piping, and assembly.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Design Engineer is primarily responsible for performing the engineering and design work of project specific tasks within the budget allocated to meet the requirements of Intercompany customer specifications. This important position also provides technical assistance for sales and marketing and supports product improvement projects.

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE

• Positive attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
• B.E. degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 3-7 years of experience in Autodesk Inventor or other 3D Modeling Software Applications for generating 3D models and drawings.
• Ability to apply mathematical equations to complex situations.
• Ability to read, understand and create specifications as well as General Arrangement, Fabrication, and Erection drawings.
• Strong desire to continue to learn and develop technical expertise.
• Proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and other MS Office programs.
• Ability to understand English, at advanced level, via written and verbal communication

SKILLS

• Proficiency in AutoDesk Inventor, AutoDesk AutoCAD and AutoDesk Vault.
• Experience using and generating parametric models.
• Experience in designing and performing fabrication work [welding, pipe fitting, assembly, etc.]
• Familiarity with Visual Basic and Autodesk Inventor iLogic.
