Job summary

VandewieleSavio India Private Limited is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to drive the conceptualization, design, and development of advanced mechanical components for textile machinery. You will lead CAD-driven design efforts, mentor engineers, and collaborate with production to ensure manufacturability and best practices.

The role demands hands-on prototyping, validation, and continuous improvement in a global, quality-focused environment.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of relevant mechanical design experience.
• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Textile Engineering.
• Experience leading design projects and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end product development from concept to prototyping and testing.
• Design mechanical components using CAD tools (Inventor, Solid Edge/Works, AutoCAD).
• Prototype, assemble, and validate mechanical systems for performance and reliability.
• Perform feasibility studies, calculations, and detailed design reviews.
• Collaborate with production to ensure manufacturability and standards.
• Support technology transfers and establish necessary processes.
• Troubleshoot design and manufacturing challenges proactively.
• Coordinate with suppliers to improve component performance and costs.
• Lead continuous improvement to optimize machine design and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence.
• Engage with customers for trials and performance assessments.
• Maintain strong knowledge of standards and best practices.

Educational Qualification :

Master / Bachelor of Mechanical or Textiles Engineering

Experience :

10 to 15 years of relevant experience in mechanical design

Roles &Responsibilities:

• Drive the complete product development cycle from concept generation to prototyping and testing.
• Independently design and develop mechanical components and assemblies using advanced CAD tools such as Autodesk inventor, Solid Edge, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar software.
• Apply hands-on experience to prototype, assemble, and validate mechanical systems for performance and reliability.
• Conduct feasibility studies, design calculations, and detailed design reviews.
• Collaborate with production teams to ensure designs are manufacturable and meet industrial standards.
• Involve in the transfer of technologies from the Parental Company and establish necessary processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve design and manufacturing challenges with a proactive, problem-solving approach.
• Work with suppliers to enhance component performance and ensure cost optimization.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to optimize machine design and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and promote technical excellence within the team.
• Engage with customers for machine trials and performance assessments.
• Strong knowledge in Standards and best practices.
