Job summary

Payper Bagging India seeks a mechanical design engineer to lead international projects involving bagging machines, SPMs and conveyors. You will design components, prepare detailed drawings, and ensure compliance with ASME/DIN standards.

You will create 2D/3D models in Creo/SolidWorks and manage BOM data in SAP/ERP, applying GD&T and performing tolerance analyses to guarantee manufacturability and quality. Collaboration with manufacturing and QA is essential.

Job description

Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee projects with international scope, ensuring adherence to global standards and effective communication across diverse teams.
• Design and development of mechanical components and systems, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Create and manage detailed 2D and 3D drawings using advanced CAD software (e.g., Creo /SolidWorks,) and Windchill (Product Data Management) systems. detail engineering and drawings for products.
• Product BOM management and SAP/ERP data management.
• Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles and perform tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure precision, manufacturability, and to identify and address potential issues in assembly and functionality.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, and quality assurance, to drive successful product development and launch.
• Prepare and present comprehensive documentation, including design specifications, BOM and project presentations.

Requirements:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• 2-4 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on Bagging Machines, Special Purpose Machines (SPM) and Conveyors.
• Proficiency in CAD software like Creo /SolidWorks, and other relevant design tools; experience with SolidWorks software is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes. Have a good understanding and knowledge of standards/code selections like ASME, DIN etc.
• Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and tolerance stack-up analysis.
• Experience with overseeing and managing international projects is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently and effectively work on design projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills with proficiency in Marathi, Hindi, and English, and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders.
