Job summary

Canvendor is seeking a Design Engineer in Chennai with 5+ years of automotive interior trim design experience. The role focuses on CATIA V5/V6 design work, PLM (TCE) usage, and collaboration with global OEM teams. Strong communication, document handling, and a team-oriented mindset are essential.

The position requires hands-on experience with cabin trim parts manufacturing processes and a proactive approach to design challenges. Immediate to 30 days notice preferred.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum of 5-7 years of automotive product engineering experience required specifically in automotive Interior trim system and component design
• Extensive experience in using CATIA V5 / V6, PLM (TCE)
• Excellent Verbal and written communication skills
• Good Knowledge of and/or training in:
• Good all-round design skills which must include experience of working on at least one of Interior Trim commodity.
• Good knowledge on manufacturing process used in all Cabin trim parts ((Pillar Trims, Headliner, Load space trim & Floor Carpet, Insulations).
• Demonstrates selection of appropriate design solutions to meet the needs of the product
• Excellent communications skills, demonstrated ability to communicate at all levels,
• Knowledge about material Data system. (IMDS)
• Excellent communications skills
• Able to interpret results / make recommendations for the project
• Capable of using Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word
• Working knowledge of project delivery processes.
• Working experience with global OEM cross functional teams will be an added advantage.
