Job Title: Design Coordinator/ Design Head

Location: Pune HO/ Mumbai, Thane
Department: Engineering/ Design
Reporting To: Director Engineering/ Project Head
Experience: 10+ years (preferably with large-scale industrial/ warehouse design experience)

Job Summary:

The Structural Design Head will lead the structural design and engineering efforts for large-scale warehouse and logistics projects. This role is responsible for ensuring that structural systems are cost-effective, code-compliant, and optimized for constructability, durability, and operational efficiency. The candidate will oversee a team of engineers, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and manage external consultants as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead structural design from concept to execution for warehouse and logistics park projects.
• Develop and review structural design calculations, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant codes (e.g., IS, ACI, Eurocode) and client standards.
• Collaborate with architects, MEP, civil, and project management teams to integrate structural elements.
• Review soil investigation reports and recommend appropriate foundation systems.
• Evaluate and select structural systems for pre-engineered buildings (PEBs), RCC, and hybrid structures.
• Optimize designs for cost, speed of construction, and sustainability.
• Guide and supervise in-house and outsourced structural design teams.
• Perform structural safety and feasibility assessments for new and existing structures.
• Coordinate with vendors and manufacturers for structural elements and materials.
• Review shop drawings, bar bending schedules, and fabrication drawings.
• Support during tendering, estimation, and construction phases with technical inputs.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Degree in Civil + Masters in Structural Engineering
• 10+ years of relevant experience, with at least 5 years in leading industrial/ warehouse design.
• Expertise in structural software like STAAD Pro, ETABS, SAFE, AutoCAD, Revit.
• Strong knowledge of PEB, steel, RCC structures, and foundation systems.
• Familiarity with green building and energy-efficient design principles (preferred).
• Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills.

Preferred Background:

• Prior experience with logistics, warehousing, industrial parks, or large distribution centers.
• Experience working with EPC companies, design consultancies, or real estate developers.
• Understanding of construction workflows and site execution challenges.
