Job summary

Rhenus Logistics is seeking a senior Business Development professional to drive sales in project logistics, including ODC, heavy lift, break-bulk, and turnkey transport. You will engage EPCs, infrastructure developers and OEMs, respond to tender requests, and lead proposals.

The role requires 8+ years in project logistics sales, knowledge of multimodal solutions, regulatory considerations, and strong client management. Travel to project sites and regional offices will be frequent.

What You Can Expect:

• Business Development & SalesIdentify and pursue new business opportunities in Project Logistics (ODC, heavy lift, break-bulk, and turnkey transportation).Engage with EPC companies, infrastructure developers, OEMs, and contractors for upcoming and ongoing projects.Respond to RFPs/RFQs and lead tender submissions with tailored technical and commercial proposals.
• Client Engagement & Relationship ManagementDevelop and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers (project managers, procurement heads, site logistics teams).Conduct site visits and technical assessments to understand logistics needs and feasibility.Ensure customer satisfaction through continuous engagement and post-sales support.
• Commercial & Technical CoordinationCollaborate with engineering, operations, and pricing teams to develop cost-effective and technically viable transport solutions.Understand route surveys, special equipment planning (low bed, hydraulic axles, multi-axle trailers), and statutory permissions.
• Market IntelligenceTrack project developments in target industries and geographies.Stay informed about competitor offerings, pricing trends, and regulatory updates (e.g., state permits, axle load regulations, port handling constraints).
• Reporting & CRMMaintain accurate pipeline and opportunity tracking using CRM tools.Provide weekly/monthly updates on leads, proposals, closures, and revenue forecasts.

What You Bring:

• Experience: 8+ years in sales or business development of project logistics or heavy cargo transport services.
• Domain Knowledge:Understanding of heavy and ODC transportation planning, multimodal solutions, and project site handlingFamiliarity with sectors like EPC, Power, Renewable Energy, Oil & Gas, Mining, or SteelExposure to bidding, tendering, contract negotiations, and client onboarding
• Skills:Strong sales, negotiation, and technical communication skillsAbility to read basic engineering drawings and transport plansProficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and CRM systems
• Travel: Willingness to travel frequently to project sites, client offices, and regional locations.
