Job summary

PeopleStrong in Hyderabad seeks an experienced logistics professional to design end-to-end heavy transport solutions for oversized cargo, coordinate route surveys, and liaise with project teams.

You will manage vendors, conduct RAMS risk assessments, optimize equipment utilization, and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards for complex transport operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Postgraduate Diploma in Supply Chain Management (PGD SCM).
• Experience with heavy transport/logistics is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Heavy Transport Planning: Design end-to-end logistics solutions for oversized cargo with safety compliance.
• Route & Site Surveys: Conduct feasibility, route surveys, and load assessments for heavy haulage.
• Cross-Departmental Coordination: Align project management, procurement, engineering and site teams.
• Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Select and supervise transport contractors and freight forwarders.
• Risk Management & Mitigation: Perform RAMS and contingency planning for high-risk operations.
• Resource & Cost Optimization: Streamline workflows, optimize equipment use, negotiate SLAs.
• Technical Expertise: Read drawings and understand engineering specs; knowledge of Incoterms.

Job Description

Heavy Transport Planning: Design end-to-end logistics solutions for oversized, overweight, and complex project cargo, ensuring compliance with local transport regulations and safety standards.

Route & Site Surveys: Conduct thorough feasibility studies, route surveys, and bridge/infrastructure load assessments for heavy haulage operations.

Cross-Departmental Coordination: Act as the primary liaison between project management, procurement, engineering, and site execution teams to synchronize material availability with project timelines.

Vendor & Subcontractor Management: Evaluate, select, and oversee specialized transport contractors, crane rental agencies, and freight forwarders, ensuring adherence to quality and safety metrics.

Risk Management & Mitigation: Perform lift studies, risk assessments (RAMS), and contingency planning for high-risk heavy lifting and transport operations.

Resource & Cost Optimization: Streamline logistics workflows, manage equipment utilization, and negotiate service-level agreements to control operational expenditure without compromising safety.

Technical Expertise:

In-depth knowledge of heavy-lift equipment (crawler cranes, hydraulic modular trailers/SPMTs, gantry systems).

Proficiency in reading technical drawings, plot plans, and engineering specifications.

Familiarity with international shipping terms (Incoterms) and customs clearance procedures for oversized cargo.

Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills to bridge technical and operational gaps across departments; strong problem-solving capabilities under high-pressure site environments.
