Job summary

Jobs Hr Agency Vadodara is seeking a qualified Safety Engineer to design and implement safety policies in our chemical manufacturing facility. The role requires 5–10 years of experience in hazardous chemical environments and relevant BE/Safety qualifications.

You will lead inspections, training, drills, and incident investigations ensuring compliance with the Factories Act and company guidelines, while engaging with teams to promote a proactive safety culture.

Qualifications

• BE Chemical Engineering or BE Fire & Safety with Diploma in Industrial Safety.
• 5–10 years’ experience in hazardous chemical industry.

Responsibilities

• Design safety policies and procedures for the factory per government rules and SOGL objectives.
• Monitor implementation via inspections, PPE checks, audits, trainings and drills.
• Manage work permit system with site inspection and PPE verification before issue.
• Ensure compliance with Factories Act, registrations and licenses.
• Organize safety trainings for all employees and contractors; lead incident investigations.
• Procure PPE and maintain stock of quality safety equipment.
• Engage teams to foster collaboration and address safety concerns.

Job description

• Design the safety policies and procedures for the factory based on the statutory compliances defined by government and SOGL business objectives.
• Monitor and roll out the effective implementation plan of safety policies and procedures in the factory - involves activities like inspection, shop floor visits, audits for checking PPE's and usage of other safety equipment, safety training, drills etc. to ensure that the factory is a safe place to work
• Drive and monitor the work permit system in the factory, ensuring that the work permit is issued only after thorough inspection of the site, PPE, daily.
• Understand and ensure strict adherence to Compliances with regards to Health & Safety systems and processes ensuring that all registrations, permissions and licenses are in accordance with the Factories Act and organization guidelines.
• Schedule and conduct regular safety training for all contract and permanent employees highlighting the importance of safety, equipment usage instructions, measures to be taken during an emergency, etc., ensuring that safety awareness and focus is always high across the factory.
• Create a proactive action plan to minimize incidents & accidents on safety and environment front and conduct in-depth incident analysis and accident investigation highlighting the root cause and taking corrective measures.
• Provide requisition for PPEs to ensure good quality, usable stock is always available
• Engage with the team members to motivate and foster teamwork, understand and address concerns and provide a collaborative environment for them to develop.

Qualification & Experience
