Job summary

Lauritz Knudsen Electrical and Automation (a unit of Schneider Electric India) seeks a Deputy Manager – R&D in Ahmednagar to lead lab activities, ensure compliance with NABL/BIS/ISO standards, and drive continual improvement in test processes and safety.

You will oversee test scheduling, develop test methods, maintain accreditation, and support product development with lab insights, ensuring robust, safe laboratory operations.

Responsibilities

• Scheduling & assigning tests to technicians and getting it done.
• Interpreting international/national standards and upgradation of test setups.
• Creating test procedures, test reports, new test methods for non-standard tests.
• Maintaining accreditation of the laboratory and preparing for external/internal audits like NABL, BIS, DEKRA, ISO 14001 & 45001, SNI, TSE, etc.
• Creating a safe working environment and continuously improving by introducing new processes.
• Understanding products to simulate functional tests, type tests and contribute during product development.

Job role:

• Scheduling & assigning tests to technicians and getting it done. Maintaining and improving KPI’s (Response time, output, etc.,) of the laboratory continuously.
• Interpretation of various international/national standards and upgradation/addition of test setups in line with amendments in standards
• Creating test procedures, test reports, new test methods for non-standard tests and decision sheets.
• Maintaining accreditation of the laboratory and continuously following the laboratory operating procedure as defined by IECEE. Preparing the laboratory for external/internal audits like NABL, BIS, DEKRA, ISO 14001 & 45001, SNI, TSE, etc., and complying with the requirements.
• Creating a safe working environment and continuously improving by introducing new processes and working practices.
• Good understanding of products & their application so as to simulate functional tests, type tests and contribute during the product development stage.
