Job summary

Mahindra And Mahindra Ltd. in Chennai, Tamil Nadu seeks an experienced inspector/engineer to oversee the inspection of gears, shafts and machined components. You will use precision measuring tools and ensure conformance to quality standards while supporting early product development.

The role requires coordination with SQI, SSU, PCM and Suppliers, familiarity with APQP and VPPAP, and the ability to plan Capex. Willing to relocate as needed; SAP and MS Office skills are beneficial.

Qualifications

• Experience in inspection of gears, shafts and machined components.
• Proficient with measuring instruments and inspection methods for gears, shafts, and machined parts.
• Exposure to APQP and VPPAP processes.
• Knowledge of forging, gears and shafts manufacturing and machined components.
• Ability to identify FTG (Fixture, Tooling & Gauges) requirements.
• Capable of Capex calculation as per part requirement.
• Experience coordinating with multiple teams and suppliers.
• Knowledge of 7QC tools and MGB certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Inspect gears, shafts and machined components and document findings.
• Utilize measuring instruments and inspection methods for gears, shafts and machined parts.
• Support APQP and VPPAP activities for new product development.
• Plan and review development with suppliers to meet milestones.
• Identify FTG requirements and perform Capex calculations per part needs.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams (SQI, SSU, PCM, SCPC) and manage supplier capacity.
• Utilize SAP and MS Office for project tracking.
• Willing to relocate as required by the team.

Job description

• Hands on experience for inspection of Gears, Shafts and Machined components
• Well versed with all measuring instruments and method of inspection for Gears, Shafts & Machined components
• Well versed with New Product Development tools - APQP, VPPAP
• Well versed with processes - Forging, Gears & Shafts Manufacturing, Machined Components, Hardware's
• Should be able to identify FTG (Fixture, Tooling & Gauges) requirement for new development
• Should be able to calculate SBC and finalise technical sign off as per process flow
• Should be able to calculate Capex as per part requirement
• Should be able to manage and review the development as per time plan and project milestone with Suppliers
• Co-ordination with different teams like SQI, SSU, PCM, SCPC. Having good interpersonal Skills
• Capable to identify current capacities at supplier and Gap in capacity w.r.t plan
• Capable to do Material Management as per Project timeline and Milestones
• Good understanding of 7QC tools, MYB, MGB certification will be added advantage
• Ability to generate new ideas for Cost Reduction
• Well versed with SAP, MS Office
• Ready to relocate as per team's requirement.
