A Deputy Clinical Nurse supports the management and delivery of nursing services within a clinical unit or department. The involves coordinating nursing activities, supervising staff, monitoring patient care standards, supporting clinical procedures, ensuring proper documentation, managing resources, and assisting senior nursing leadership in maintaining quality, safety, infection control, and continuity of patient care.

  • Support senior nursing leadership in the day-to-day management of clinical services.
  • Coordinate nursing activities and patient care within the assigned unit.
  • Supervise and guide nursing staff and clinical support personnel.
  • Monitor the quality and continuity of nursing care.
  • Review patient care requirements and ensure appropriate nursing interventions.
  • Support staff allocation, duty assignments, and shift coordination.
  • Monitor compliance with medication administration and patient safety practices.
  • Ensure accurate and timely nursing documentation.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and referral processes.
  • Coordinate with doctors and multidisciplinary healthcare teams.
  • Support management of emergency and critical patient care situations.
  • Monitor infection prevention and control practices within the unit.
  • Ensure availability and appropriate use of nursing equipment and supplies.
