Job Description
An Assistant Clinical Nurse is responsible for supporting registered nurses and clinical teams in delivering safe, effective, and compassionate patient care. The assists with patient monitoring, basic nursing care, clinical procedures, documentation, patient preparation, and coordination of care while working under the supervision of qualified nursing personnel.
- Assist nursing staff in providing patient-care services.
- Monitor and record vital signs, observations, and assigned clinical parameters.
- Support patients with hygiene, comfort, mobility, feeding, and positioning needs.
- Prepare patients for examinations, investigations, procedures, and treatments.
- Assist with routine nursing procedures under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Support medication administration activities as assigned and authorized.
- Assist with specimen collection, labeling, and transportation.
- Maintain accurate patient-care records and assigned documentation.
- Observe patient conditions and promptly report abnormalities or concerns.
- Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and referral-related activities.
- Coordinate with nursing staff and support departments to facilitate patient care.
- Maintain cleanliness, organization, and readiness of patient-care areas.
- Ensure availability of nursing supplies, consumables, and basic equipment.
- Follow infection-prevention, hand-hygiene, isolation, and biomedical-waste procedures.
- Support emergency response activities within assigned responsibilities and training.
- Assist in transporting patients for investigations, procedures, or transfers.
- Participate in shift handovers and nursing team communication.
- Provide courteous and compassionate support to patients and caregivers.
- Maintain patient privacy, dignity, confidentiality, and professional conduct.
- Follow hospital policies, nursing SOPs, patient-safety standards, and applicable regulations.
