Job summary

Jeyachandran Textiles in Tamil Nadu invites a Department/Floor Manager to lead the Fashion & Lifestyle department across mens, womens, kids, apparel, footwear and decor. The role requires driving sales, overseeing visual merchandising, and ensuring inventory control.

You will coordinate with purchase and merchandising teams, plan promotions, and guide a sales team to deliver excellent customer service during weekends and festival seasons.

Qualifications

• Graduate in any discipline; a degree/diploma in Retail Management or Fashion adds advantage.
• Experience in textile, apparel or lifestyle retail is preferred as per the job.
• Strong knowledge of fashion trends, fabrics, ethnic and western wear, and local customer preferences.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills required.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day operations of the Fashion & Lifestyle department (Mens, Womens and Kids, Apparel, Footwear, accessories, cosmetics, home decor and lifestyle products).
• Achieve monthly and annual sales targets for the department and drive category growth.
• Plan and execute visual merchandising and product displays in line with company standards and seasonal themes.
• Monitor stock levels, place replenishment indents, and coordinate with purchase and merchandising teams on fast/slow movers.
• Ensure accurate inventory control, conduct regular stock audits, and minimise shrinkage, damage and aged stock.
• Analyse sales reports and customer trends to recommend the right product mix for the Palani market.
• Plan and run promotions, festival sales and in-store offers.
• Lead, train and motivate the floor sales team; prepare duty rosters and monitor staff performance.
• Deliver excellent customer service, handle escalations and build repeat customers.
• Ensure proper pricing, tagging, billing coordination and cash/return policy compliance.
• Maintain store hygiene, safety and SOP compliance in the department.
• Report department performance to the Store Manager regularly.

Preferred candidate profile:

• Graduate in any discipline; a degree or diploma in Retail Management, Fashion or Business Administration is an added advantage
• 37 years of experience in textile, apparel or lifestyle retail industry
• Strong knowledge of fashion trends, fabrics, ethnic and western wear, and local customer preferences
• Good understanding of inventory management, visual merchandising and retail KPIs
• Basic computer skills (MS Excel, billing/ERP software)
• Fluency in Tamil is a must; working knowledge of English and Malayalam is preferred
• Candidates from Palani, Dindigul, Oddanchatram, Pollachi or nearby locations preferred
• Willing to work in retail shifts, weekends and festival seasons
• Good communication, leadership and customer-handling skills
