Job summary

GMR Group is seeking a highly experienced DC & AC Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design for utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects. You will size DC and LV/MV AC systems, route cables, and develop protection schemes, ensuring safety and compliance.

The role requires 5–10 years in solar engineering, with proficiency in AutoCAD, PVsyst, Homer, and ETAP, along with knowledge of CERC/CEA/grid codes. Grounded in Delhi, the position focuses on design and optimization across EPC projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on renewable energy.
• 5–10 years of relevant solar, wind, or energy storage engineering experience.
• Experience with electrical design for utility-scale plants and BESS integration.

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize, design and optimize DC and LV/MV AC systems for solar and storage plants.
• Prepare SLDs, electrical layouts, technical specs, and BOQs.
• Review RFPs and support pre-bid, execution and commissioning phases.
• Stay updated on the latest solar technologies and regulatory standards.

Job description

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated DC & AC Electrical Engineer for GMR Renewables Engineering team with 5-10 Years of relevant experience to lead electrical engineering and optimization of DC and LV/MV AC electrical systems in utility‑scale solar & wind and BESS plants, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop Solar plant + storage systems, DC & AC system sizing, cable routing and voltage drop calculations, protection systems and Evacuation systems
• Preparation & review of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Electrical layouts and technical specifications and BOQs
• Preparation/ review of RFPs
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in solar technology and integrate best practices into the design process.
• Provide engineering support during prebid, execution and commissioning stages of projects
• Energy yield assessment and Plant loss optimization

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

• Strong understanding of FDRE, RTC, and BESS integration in renewable energy systems.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (CERC, CEA, SERC), tender requirements (SECI/NTPC/State-level), and grid codes.
• Vendor & Consultant Management: Experience in managing external consultants, EPC vendors, and technology suppliers.

Education Qualifications
