Job summary

GMR Group's Renewables division seeks a seasoned DC & AC Electrical Engineer to lead electrical design and optimization for utility-scale solar, wind, and BESS projects in Delhi.

With 5–10 years of relevant experience, you will develop SLDs, layouts, BOQs, and integration strategies, ensure compliance with IEC/IS standards, and coordinate with EPC vendors and regulators.

This role emphasizes innovation, safety, and energy yield optimization, supporting prebid, execution, and commissioning phases.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech in Electrical or Renewable Energy.
• 5–10 years in solar engineering, preferably with an IPP, OEM, renewable energy developer or technical consultant.

Responsibilities

• Design solar plants and storage systems; size DC/AC, route cables, select protection and evacuation systems.
• Prepare and review single-line diagrams, electrical layouts, specifications and BOQs.
• Prepare/review RFPs and bid documents.
• Incorporate latest solar tech innovations into the design process.
• Provide engineering support during prebid, execution and commissioning.
• Conduct energy yield assessment and plant loss optimization.

We are seeking a highly experienced and motivated DC & AC Electrical Engineer for GMR Renewables Engineering team with 5-10 Years of relevant experience to lead electrical engineering and optimization of DC and LV/MV AC electrical systems in utility‑scale solar & wind and BESS plants, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with applicable standards.

Key Accountabilities

• Conceptualize, design and develop Solar plant + storage systems, DC & AC system sizing, cable routing and voltage drop calculations, protection systems and Evacuation systems
• Preparation & review of Single Line Diagrams (SLD), Electrical layouts and technical specifications and BOQs
• Preparation/ review of RFPs
• Stay updated on the latest advancements in solar technology and integrate best practices into the design process.
• Provide engineering support during prebid, execution and commissioning stages of projects
• Energy yield assessment and Plant loss optimization

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES - Additional Details

• Strong understanding of FDRE, RTC, and BESS integration in renewable energy systems.
• In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards (CERC, CEA, SERC), tender requirements (SECI/NTPC/State-level), and grid codes.
• Vendor & Consultant Management: Experience in managing external consultants, EPC vendors, and technology suppliers.
