Qualifications

• It requires a degree in Data Science or related field.
• Strong background in statistics, ML, and probability.
• Experience articulating business questions using quantitative methods.
• Hands-on preprocessing and feature engineering on real datasets.
• Solid Python skills and SQL for large data handling.
• Familiarity with visualization tools like Tableau/Power BI.
• Nice to have Azure DevOps, Azure ML, Kedro or Airflow.

Data Scientist for AI Products – Americas

About the Role

It’s about Being What’s Next. This position will be part of the Digital Americas organization, a multidisciplinary technical team that includes data scientists, software engineers, and operations research experts. The team creates analytics and decision‑support systems for challenging problems across operations, supply chain, and business process within Linde’s business units.

Responsibilities

• Extend existing and build new AI products for a wide range of use cases across Linde’s business and value chain.
• Work directly with diverse data sources, types, and structures to derive actionable insights.
• Develop, customize, and manage AI software products based on machine and deep‑learning back‑ends.
• Support replication of existing products and pipelines to other systems in the Americas.
• Assist in architectural design and define data requirements for new developments.
• Interact with business functions to identify opportunities with potential business impact and support development and deployment of models into production.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Computational Statistics/Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research, or a related field.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with multivariate statistics, machine learning, and probability concepts.
• Experience articulating business questions and using quantitative techniques to arrive at solutions using available data.
• Hands‑on experience with preprocessing, feature engineering, feature selection, and data cleansing on real‑world datasets.
• Preferably work experience in an engineering or technology role.
• Solid background in Python and handling large data sets using SQL in a business environment (pandas, NumPy, matplotlib, seaborn, scikit‑learn, Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch, statsmodels, etc.).
• Sound knowledge of data architectures and concepts and practical experience in visualizing large datasets with tools such as Tableau or PowerBI.
• Result‑driven mindset and excellent communication skills; ability to structure a project from idea to experimentation to prototype to implementation.
• Very good English skills required.
• As a plus: hands‑on experience with DevOps and Microsoft Azure, experience in Azure ML, Kedro or Airflow, experience with MLflow or similar tools.
• Willingness to work flexible hours to overlap with Americas time zones for real‑time interaction and efficient delivery.
