Job summary

Linde India is seeking a data science professional to help build and extend AI products across Linde’s business and value chain. You will work with diverse data sources to extract actionable insights and develop ML/DL backends, contributing to production-ready models and deployment strategies.

The role requires strong Python and SQL skills, experience with ML/DL frameworks, and the ability to collaborate with business functions across time zones for real-time delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in data science, statistics, CS or OR with strong analytics.
• Solid background in multivariate stats and ML concepts.
• Ability to turn business questions into quantitative analyses.
• Hands-on data wrangling and feature engineering on real datasets.
• Experience in an engineering/tech environment is a plus.

What will you do?

• Support Linde’s Digital Americas team by extending existing and building new AI products for a vast array of use cases across Linde’s business and value chain.
• Work directly with a variety of data sources, types and structures to derive actionable insights.
• Develop, customize and manage AI software products based on machine‑learning and deep‑learning backends.
• Support replication of existing products and pipelines to other systems in the Americas.
• Assist in architectural design and definition of data requirements for new developments.
• Interact with business functions to identify opportunities with potential business impact and support the development and deployment of models into production.

Do you have what it takes?

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Data Science, Computational Statistics/Mathematics, Computer Science, Operations Research or a related field.
• Strong understanding and practical experience with multivariate statistics, machine learning and probability concepts.
• Experience articulating business questions and applying quantitative techniques to arrive at solutions with available data.
• Hands‑on experience with preprocessing, feature engineering, selection and data cleansing on real‑world datasets.
• Preferably experience in an engineering or technology role.
• Strong background in Python and handling large datasets using SQL (pandas, numpy, matplotlib, seaborn, sklearn, keras, tensorflow, pytorch, statsmodels).
• Knowledge of data architectures and experience visualizing large datasets, e.g. with Tableau or PowerBI.
• Result‑driven mindset and excellent communication skills with high social competence, enabling end‑to‑end project delivery.
• Very good English skills.
• Plus: hands‑on experience with DevOps, MS Azure, Azure ML, Kedro or Airflow, MLflow or similar.
• Flexibility to overlap working hours with Americas time zones for real‑time interaction and delivery.
