Job summary

Praxair India Private Limited - a part of Linde plc - is seeking a Data Engineer in Software Engineering to join our Bangalore team on-site. You will build scalable data solutions, interface between application development and data platforms, and enable data ingestion on SAP Datasphere, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.

You should have strong Python and SQL skills, experience with large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines and data modeling, and a collaborative, agile mindset to drive measurable business

• 5+ years data engineering experience.

• Knowledge of SAP data landscapes is a strong plus.

Making an impact. What will you do?

• You will create scalable and production-ready data solutions that deliver measurable business value and accelerate data-driven digitalization initiatives.
• You will act as a key interface between application development teams and enterprise data platform teams, translating business and engineering needs into reliable data pipelines, curated data products, and reusable data services.
• You will design and develop scalable data pipelines across enterprise landscapes, including SAP S/4, engineering systems, and external data sources.
• You will enable reliable data ingestion, transformation, and provisioning on platforms such as SAP Datasphere / SAP Business Data Cloud, Databricks, and Microsoft Fabric.
• You will collaborate with data platform teams to integrate application-layer requirements with platform capabilities such as Delta Lake, Spark, semantic layers, and reporting layers.
• You will develop and maintain data models, data products, and data services supporting analytics, AI, and digital engineering applications.
• You will ensure high data quality, monitoring, governance, and reusable data engineering patterns across the capture-transform-curate-consume lifecycle.

Winning in your role. Do you have what it takes?

• You have strong programming skills in Python and SQL.
• You have experience in data engineering, ETL/ELT pipelines, and large-scale data processing.
• You have hands-on experience with modern data platforms such as Databricks, SAP Datasphere / SAP Business Data Cloud, Microsoft Fabric, or comparable cloud data platforms.
• You have experience with data modelling, data governance, and building data products.
• You have a good understanding of how high-quality data enables analytics, AI/ML, reporting, and digital applications in production environments (understanding of SAP data landscapes is a strong plus).
• You have a strong ownership and problem-solving mindset with an agile working style focused on measurable business value.
• You have good communication skills and the ability to work across teams, acting as a bridge between application development, business stakeholders, and platform/data teams.
• You have a structured approach to data quality, governance, monitoring, and standardization.
