Job summary

EXL in India is seeking an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud and Fivetran. The role emphasizes hands-on cloud data platform work and leveraging AI coding assistants to boost productivity.

You will design data models and semantic layers for analytics, implement data quality checks, and collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Data Engineering or Analytics Engineering experience.
• Hands-on Snowflake and dbt Cloud with ELT pipelines.
• Strong SQL and data modeling skills.
• Experience with Fivetran or similar ELT tools.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, Git, and automated testing.
• Ability to work with AI coding assistants for productivity.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source to Snowflake.

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer / Analytics Engineer to build and maintain modern data pipelines using Snowflake, dbt Cloud, and Fivetran. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and be comfortable leveraging AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to improve engineering productivity.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain end-to-end data pipelines from source systems into Snowflake.
• Configure and manage data ingestion using Fivetran.
• Develop and maintain dbt models, tests, documentation, and deployment workflows.
• Design data models and semantic layers for analytics consumption.
• Implement data quality checks, validation processes, and data contracts.
• Use AI-powered coding assistants to automate development and documentation tasks.
• Review, validate, and deploy AI-generated code.
• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable data solutions.

Required Skills
