Job summary

Kandiga Consultancy Services in Mysuru, Karnataka seeks a motivated tooling engineer to lead cutting tool planning, life optimization, trials, and vendor development for machining operations.

You will collaborate with process engineers, drive end-to-end tool selection for Turning, Milling, and Turn-Mill processes, and implement strategies to reduce CPC and cycle times while improving productivity and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage all cutting tool requirements for machining operations, including tool planning, trials, vendor development, tool life optimization, and technical support.
• Responsible for monitoring and establishing tool life through wear analysis, coordinating tool regrinding and reuse activities, maintaining tooling documentation, and driving effective troubleshooting of cutting tool-related issues to ensure productivity, quality, and cost efficiency
• Collaborate with Process engineering teams to optimize tooling selection for specific applications.
• Lead the end-to-end selection of cutting tools for Turning, Milling, Turn-Mill applications to support NPD, production, and machining trials.
• Select and optimize cutting geometries, tool materials, coatings, and grades based on workpiece materials, machining conditions, and application requirements.
• Develop and implement tooling strategies to achieve CPC targets, reduce tooling cost, reduce cycle times, and enhance machining productivity.
• Introduce next-generation cutting tools, advanced grades, and innovative machining technologies to improve manufacturing efficiency and competitiveness.
• Troubleshoot machining and tooling-related issues, providing effective technical solutions to ensure uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
