Job summary

WIRTGEN INDIA seeks a Customer Quality & Supplier Quality (Engine Commodity) Engineer to drive customer-focused quality initiatives. The role involves resolving field complaints, enforcing robust processes, and coordinating with the field service team and plant functions to deliver reliable road construction equipment.

5–10 years’ experience in quality within the construction equipment sector is preferred. The position is based at WIRTGEN INDIA Pvt.

Qualifications

• Diploma or BE in mechanical/production fields.
• 5–10 years of experience in customer or supplier quality.
• Knowledge of PPAP and common quality tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer-focused approach by resolving field complaints promptly.
• Enforce actions and processes to deliver robust products to customers.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to improve customer-centric quality.
• Manage warranty data (MIS) and cost recovery from suppliers.
• Interface with field support and plant functions for issue resolution.
• Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions for field issues.
• Monitor warranty costs and supplier performance for improvements.

Customer Quality & Supplier Quality (Engine Commodity) Engineer

Location: WIRTGEN INDIA Pvt. Ltd., Dist Pune, 412214, Maharashtra, India

Basic Requirements:

• Educational Qualification: Diploma / BE (Mech / Auto / Production / Industrial)
• Age: 25- 30 Years
• Experience: 5- 10years

Purpose of the Job:

• Develop customer focused approach in the organization by resolving field complaints in timely man-ner.
• Drive to enforce the actions and processes to delivering robust and reliable products to the custom-ers
• Drive initiatives within CFT team to develop customer centric approach.
• Manage customer issue data (MIS) acquisition, stratification to develop useful reports
• Monitor and own Warranty cost and Warranty cost recovery from suppliers
• Be a major interface with field support team and co-ordinate other plant functions as appropriate

Scope of Work & Accountabilities:

Customer Quality

• Systematically analyze the field issues and drive root cause analysis & corrective actions
• Monitor effectiveness of resolved issues through audits
• Analyze warranty cost & initiate actions on top contributors to reduce Cost of Poor Quality
• Drive initiatives for product reliability improvement
• Supplier and assembly line process improvements in view of field failures
• Connecting with customers and field service team through job site visits and acquire feedback
• Be a communication media between operations and field support teams
• Tracking field feedback of newly launched products and resolving teething issues with sense of ur-gency
• Supplier visits in view of field issue resolution
• Carry out audits / inspections and have a structured way of resolving of problems
• Drive Warranty Cost reduction initiatives within plant and Warranty Cost recovery from suppliers

Supplier Quality : Engine Commodity

• Ensure incoming quality and supplier compliance
• Drive supplier CAPA and audits
• Conduct supplier reviews and development programs
• Support new supplier development and PPAP approvals
• Drive process improvements at supplier and plant level
• Initiate product reliability projects and poka-yoke solutions
• Drive Improvement in supplier quality performance
• Communicate, review & monitor Supplier performance. Proactive & reactive audits
• Identify & execute CFT projects for product reliability improvement.
• Continuously connect with internal & external customers and action on feedback

Authorities

• Control the production lines, in coming goods and process in view of field issues
• Assign type of warranty (primary, consequential, good will) based on technical analysis
• Dispatch hold / contain stock machines
• Intitiate and drive CFT Projects for field issue resolution
• Proactive / reactive filed visits, meet customers and understand Voice of Market
• Recommend / suggest design / process improvements during NPI with knowledge of historic field issues

Skills / Competencies required:

• Understanding of Construction Equipment industry w.r.t. Customer base & expectations, operator behaviors, decision making criteria and perception management
• Planning, organizing and priortarization of tasks. Follow up and follow through
• Able to communicate and convience urgency of field issue resolution
• Assertive & Influencing for, to and fro supports within different functions
• Technical knowledge of compactors, paving and screening machines and stackers
• Knowledge of terms related to field quality
• Ability to define, analyze and drive problem solutions
• Understanding of QMS
• Knowledge of PPAP process
• Knowledge of Proprietary suppliers / products and processes
• Co-relation analysis
