Job summary

INNIO Group is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer based in Coimbatore, India to coordinate between Indian suppliers and global teams. You will lead audits, qualification projects and root-cause analyses while driving continuous improvement in quality and cost.

A background in mechanical engineering with strong communication and cross-functional collaboration is essential. Responsibilities include design reviews participation, ensuring compliance with PPAP-like procedures, and supporting

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer, with supplier development exposure.
• Strong communication, problem-solving and project management skills, plus cross-functional teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Interface between suppliers in India and global teams to resolve technical issues and reduce miscommunication.
• Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality procedures and standards.
• Lead qualification projects for new parts and suppliers, focusing on preventing failures.
• Participate in design and Tollgate reviews and drive cost of quality reductions.
• Lead root cause analyses and manage supplier deviations and non-conformities.
• Support supplier searches and development activities; drive continuous improvement and supplier assessments.

Your Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between suppliers in India and globally, and internal functions such as Procurement, Manufacturing, and Engineering to resolve technical issues and eliminate communication barriers


• Conduct supplier audits and ensure compliance with quality procedures, standards, and technical regulations


• Lead qualification projects for new parts and new suppliers, with a strong focus on failure prevention


• Participate in design and Tollgate reviews


• Drive initiatives to reduce product defects and cost of quality


• Lead root cause analyses and manage supplier deviation requests and non-conformities


• Support the search for new suppliers and lead supplier development activities


• Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to supplier assessments

Your Profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field of study


• Minimum 5 years of experience as a Supplier Quality Engineer, including supplier development experience


• Strong communication, problem-solving, and project management skills, with experience working in cross-functional teams


• Good knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as PPAP, APQP, 8D, Ishikawa, and 5 Why


• Analytical mindset with the ability to work independently and drive effective problem resolution


• Very good proficiency in MS Office


• Fluent in English


• Willingness to travel up to 50% within India


• Casting experience is preferred
