Job summary

JSW Steel Limited is seeking an Engineer to join the Compact Strip Production Caster & Mill team to oversee and optimize continuous casting and rolling processes. This role requires deep metallurgical knowledge, process control, and equipment maintenance to ensure high-quality steel production.

The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance operational efficiency, troubleshoot technical issues, and implement innovations in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline from a recognized university.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in steel manufacturing, specifically in continuous casting and rolling mill operations.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control the compact strip production casting and rolling processes to ensure adherence to quality and production targets.
• Analyze process parameters and metallurgical data to optimize product quality and minimize defects.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams to schedule and execute preventive and corrective maintenance of casting and mill equipment.
• Implement process improvements and technological upgrades to enhance operational efficiency and reduce downtime.
• Conduct root cause analysis of production issues and develop corrective action plans to prevent recurrence.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards specific to steel manufacturing operations.
• Collaborate with R&D and quality assurance teams to develop new steel grades and improve existing products.
• Prepare detailed technical reports and documentation related to process performance and equipment status.
• Train and mentor junior engineers and operators on process control and best practices within the compact strip production line.
• Participate in cross-functional project teams to support plant expansions, upgrades, and new technology implementations.
