Job summary

Northern Marine Group is seeking a Crewing Manager in Mumbai to oversee all crew management activities for the fleet, ensuring compliant and motivated seafarers. You will lead a marine personnel team and coordinate with local and international stakeholders to align crewing strategy with business objectives.

The role requires strong leadership, maritime regulatory knowledge (STCW/MLC/ISM), and experience with crewing systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in a leadership or crewing management role.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations (STCW, MLC, ISM).
• Experience managing marine personnel operations, crew planning and stakeholder relationships.
• Proven leadership and people management capabilities, with mentoring experience.
• Strong client engagement and communication skills.
• Experience with crewing management systems and IT platforms.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Understanding of marine recruitment, seafarer development and succession planning.
• Certificate of Competency such as 2nd Mate or OOW Engine is advantageous.

We have a new opportunity for a Crewing Manager to join Northern Marine Group in Mumbai. This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior leadership role within a globally recognised ship management organisation, supporting international crewing operations across a growing and diverse fleet.

The position offers the chance to play a major role in shaping and driving crewing strategy, leading a high-performing marine personnel team, and working closely with both local and global stakeholders. You will be instrumental in ensuring vessels are manned with competent, compliant, and motivated seafarers, while contributing towards operational performance, client relationships, and wider business growth initiatives.

Overview

As Crewing Manager, you will oversee all aspects of crew management operations for the company's fleet within Northern Marine Manning Services India. This is a leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, stakeholder management, and people leadership to ensure vessels are staffed with competent, compliant, and motivated seafarers. You will play a key role in driving crewing performance, supporting business growth, maintaining regulatory compliance, and enhancing seafarer engagement across the organisation. The role will also involve close collaboration with international stakeholders and senior leadership teams globally.

Required Skill Set and Experience

• Experience in a similar leadership or crewing management role.
• Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations, including STCW, MLC, ISM, and related compliance standards.
• Experience managing marine personnel operations, crew planning, and stakeholder relationships.
Proven leadership and people management capabilities, with experience mentoring and developing teams.
• Strong client engagement and communication skills.
• Experience working with crewing management systems and relevant IT platforms.
