Job Description

Counsellor is responsible for providing professional counselling and support to patients or clients regarding healthcare services, treatment processes, appointments, investigations, and related requirements within the assigned scope. The includes understanding patient concerns, explaining routine processes, coordinating with clinical teams, maintaining counselling records, supporting treatment journey communication, and ensuring empathetic, confidential, and patient-focused interactions.

• Interact with patients and families professionally and empathetically.
• Understand patient concerns, questions, and service-related requirements.
• Explain healthcare processes and centre procedures within the assigned scope.
• Coordinate counselling sessions with doctors and clinical teams where required.
• Assist patients in understanding appointments, investigations, treatment schedules, and follow-up requirements.
• Provide non-clinical information regarding healthcare services and processes.
• Support communication between patients, doctors, nursing staff, and other teams.
• Follow up with patients regarding scheduled visits and treatment milestones.
• Handle routine queries and escalate clinical questions appropriately.
• Assist patients with required forms, documentation, and administrative processes.
• Maintain accurate counselling notes and patient interaction records.
• Coordinate with front office, billing, laboratory, pharmacy, and other departments.
• Support patients through different stages of their treatment or service journey.
• Handle sensitive conversations with professionalism and confidentiality.
• Identify concerns requiring escalation to clinical or administrative teams.
• Conduct follow-up communication according to approved protocols.
• Collect patient feedback and communicate relevant service concerns.
