Job summary

JobItUs is seeking a detail-oriented Costing & Estimation Engineer to support our Elevation & Facade Systems division. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting sales and execution teams with competitive proposals.

The ideal candidate will handle BOQ preparation, cost optimization, and vendor costing while coordinating with design and execution teams to ensure technically sound pricing for pre-tender and post-tender stages.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Quantity Surveying.
• Strong understanding of facade systems, construction materials, and technical drawings.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities) based on drawings, specifications, and site inputs.
• Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs for facade and elevation systems.
• Develop accurate cost estimates for projects during pre-tender and post-tender stages.
• Analyze tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications; prepare commercial proposals and quotations.
• Coordinate with sales teams for pricing strategies and negotiations.
• Coordinate with design and execution teams to validate quantities and methodologies.

Job Summary

We are looking for a detail-oriented Costing & Estimation Engineer to support our Elevation & Facade Systems division. The role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project requirements, and supporting sales and execution teams with competitive and technically sound proposals.

Key Responsibilities

• 1. Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation
  Prepare detailed BOQs (Bill of Quantities) based on drawings, specifications, and site inputs
  Calculate material, labor, and overhead costs for facade and elevation systems
  Develop accurate cost estimates for projects during pre-tender and post-tender stages
• 2. Tendering & Proposal Support
  Analyze tender documents, drawings, and technical specifications
  Prepare commercial proposals and quotations
  Coordinate with sales teams for pricing strategies and negotiations
• 3. Technical Coordination
  Coordinate with design and execution teams to validate quantities and methodologies
  Understand facade systems such as cladding, precast panels, GRC, UHPC, and elevation systems
  Suggest cost-effective alternatives without compromising project quality
• 4. Vendor & Material Costing
  Source and evaluate vendor quotations for materials and services
  Maintain updated databases for raw materials, fabrication, and installation costing
• 5. Cost Optimization
  Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve project margins
  Conduct variance analysis between estimated and actual project costs
• 6. Documentation & Reporting
  Maintain proper records of estimates, revisions, approvals, and quotations
  Generate cost reports and support management decision-making processes

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management / Quantity Surveying
• Strong understanding of facade systems, construction materials, and technical drawings

Proficiency in:

• MS Excel (Advanced Level)
• AutoCAD (Basic to Intermediate)
• Good understanding of rate analysis and costing principles
• Strong analytical and numerical abilities
• Good communication and coordination skills
