Job summary

Nivesh is seeking a product expert to design and deliver SME insurance offerings on our platform. You will work with small business owners and distributor partners to translate risk exposure into tailor-made product bundles with insurer partners.

You will own the end-to-end lifecycle from requirements and negotiation to configuration, pricing, and launch, while staying current on regulations and market trends that affect SME coverage.

Qualifications

• Experience in SME/commercial insurance lines.

• IRDAI certification or background is a strong plus.

Role Overview

We are looking for a product expert for providing SME Insurance Solutions to own the design and delivery of insurance offerings for small businesses on the Nivesh platform. This is a solutioning-led role: you will work closely with small business owners (directly and through our distributor network) to understand their risk exposure and operational needs, then translate those needs into the right combination of insurance products by working with our insurance company partners. You will act as the bridge between business requirements and insurer offerings shaping product bundles, pricing structures, and coverage terms that genuinely fit SME needs, rather than simply selling off-the-shelf policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with small business owners and distributor partners to understand business operations, risk profile, and protection needs (health, property, liability, business interruption, key-man, cyber, etc.)
• Translate identified needs into structured insurance requirements, and work with insurance companies (life, health, and general insurers) to source, customize, or co-create suitable products
• Own the end-to-end product lifecycle for SME insurance offerings on the platform — from requirement gathering and insurer negotiation to product configuration, pricing, and launch
• Build and maintain strong relationships with insurance company partners to ensure competitive terms, faster turnaround, and access to new/customized products for SME segments
• Create solution frameworks and decision tools that help distributors quickly match small business clients to the right insurance product mix
• Continuously evaluate the SME insurance product portfolio against market gaps, claims experience, and distributor/client feedback, and drive refinements
• Stay current on IRDAI regulations, emerging SME risk categories, and competitor product offerings to keep Nivesh's insurance suite relevant
• Collaborate with technology and platform teams to improve how insurance solutions are presented, compared, and issued on the Nivesh platform
• Track key product metrics — policies issued, premium volume, renewal/retention rates, partner (insurer) performance, and distributor adoption

Requirements

• 2–6 years of experience in insurance product management, solutioning, underwriting liaison, or business‑insurance advisory, with clear exposure to SME/commercial insurance lines
• Strong working knowledge of small business risk categories and the insurance products that address them (health, property, liability, business interruption, group covers, etc.)
• Demonstrated experience working directly with insurance companies — structuring products, negotiating terms, or managing partner relationships
• Ability to translate business/client needs into clear product requirements and communicate effectively with both business owners and insurer teams
• IRDAI certification, or a background in insurance broking/underwriting, is a strong plus
• Bachelor's degree required; MBA or a relevant insurance certification (III, Insurance Institute of India) preferred
• Strong analytical and stakeholder‑management skills; comfortable operating in a fast‑paced, evolving fintech environment
