Job summary

Onshore Construction is seeking a Contracts Manager to support the tendering and bidding team with contractual and commercial oversight to ensure contract compliance and timely delivery.

You will review pre-award terms, assess obligations and liabilities, draft contracts and variation orders, and advise on JV or partnering agreements as per standards. You will supervise the commercial team and coordinate with project stakeholders to mitigate risk and maximize profit.

Qualifications

  • MTech/BE/BTech Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical engineering required.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Fluent in English.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all activities related to contractual, legal, commercial and insurance issues and draft contracts.
  • Review pre-award terms to identify commercial risks.
  • Assess obligations including insurance, bank guarantees, and payment terms.
  • Contract administration and drafting change orders to maximize profits.

Job description

OBJECTIVE

As a Contracts Manager, you will be supporting the tendering & bidding team for a project with contractual and commercial oversight to ensure contract compliance, risk mitigation, overall commercial insights and timely delivery.

PURPOSE

To assist in managing contract obligations in an effective manner and improve contract lifecycle management through strategic implementations

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • 1. Leads all activities related to contractual, legal, commercial and insurance issues related to contracts with clients including the drafting of contracts and generation of variation orders to maximize profits.
  • 2. Review the pre-award tender terms and conditions, to identify and mitigate commercial risk of the contract.
  • 3. Assess company's obligations and liabilities, including insurance requirements, bank guarantee wordings, payments terms, and other conditions
  • 4. Contracts management and administration and capability to handle and formulate a Contract by reviewing every aspect.
  • 5. Should be capable to understand the basis and advice corrective methods in formulation of JV, consortium or other partnering agreements as per standards and unique practices
  • 6. Supervise, direct and advise Tendering & Bidding Team / Commercial Team / Contract Engineers / Contracts Administrators on critical clauses / terms of the contraction and its function during execution
  • 7. Adept in identifying and communicating the contract requirements and devising appropriate contract flow-downs for Purchase Orders and Subcontracts
  • 8. Reports directly to the Director / Project Head who has overall responsibility for delivery of the project within the required cost and schedule constraints
  • 9. Manage and supervise Contract project kick-off activities / meetings, prepare Insurance Certificates, Bank Guarantees, Company Guarantees, Contract document review, preparation of Contract summary, Contract critical list, Deliverables lists and Commercial, Project Delegation & Responsibilities Matrix
  • 10. Conduct Contract Terms Review Kick-off meeting with Project team to promote contract awareness and interpretation to support project implementation.
  • 11. Capability the lead to develop, manage and negotiate all Project change / variation / amendment Proposals with the Client, including any disputes or claims
  • 12. Ensures that project monthly reports reflect an accurate position on all Contract and Commercial issues.
  • 13. Work closely with the Project Manager / Team to monitor scheduled performance along with cost trends to identify opportunities for revenue enhancement and risks mitigation.
  • 14. Support the Director / Project Manager in the development and implementation of methodologies to recognize and identify the need to raise a claim and actively assisting in the resolution of claims
  • 15. Meet with client / customers to discuss and resolve both legal and business matters.
  • 16. Supervising contract execution to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines
