Job summary

Sterling & Wilson is seeking a Contracts Manager in Mumbai to manage end-to-end prebid contracts for EPC projects. The role involves studying ITB, GCC, SCC and commercial schedules, raising queries, and coordinating with estimation and project teams on pricing impacts.

You will prepare contractual deviations, NDAs, MOUs, JVAs, and handle variances, claims and notices while supporting legal discussions.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end prebid contract management for EPC, item rate, percentage rate, design-build tenders.
• Study tender documents: ITB, GCC & SCC and commercial schedules.
• Raise pre-bid queries and prepare contract risk analysis for tenders.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings, negotiations and client discussions.
• Support Estimation on contractual provisions impacting pricing.
• Prepare contractual deviation and clarification sheets per business guidelines.
• Prepare and vet NDA, MOU, JVA for upcoming projects.
• Support multiple project teams on contractual issues and client notices (EOT, variations, cost claims).
• Read and understand project contracts; clarify rights and obligations of parties.
• Prepare Contract Appreciation Documents for new contracts.
• Notify for any variation with time/cost impact to employer.
• Identify claims and prepare them under contract clauses.
• Handle contractual issues of closed contracts to minimize losses and maximize profit.
• Support legal team in dispute resolution.

Job description

ROLE: CONTRACTS MANAGER

• Involve in endtoend prebid contract management for EPC / itemrate / percentage rate / designbuild tenders. Study tender documents, including:
• Instructions to Bidders (ITB)
• Conditions of Contract (GCC & SCC)
• Commercial schedules, etc.
• Raising pre bid queries and preparation of contractual risk analysis of tenders. Participate in prebid meetings, negotiations, and client discussions.
• Support Estimation team on contractual provisions impacting pricing
• Prepare contractual deviation and clarifications sheets in line with Business guidelines.
• Preparation and vetting of NDA, MOU, JVA etc. for upcoming projects.
• Supporting multiple project teams for contractual issues including drafting correspondences viz. EOT, Variations, cost claims, replies to Client notices etc.
• Thorough reading and understanding of Project related all Contract Documents. Clarity regarding rights and obligations of the parties.
• Preparation of Contract Appreciation Document (CAD) for new contracts.
• Have a strict eye for any Variation. Events having time and cost impact on account of Employer, shall be notified immediately.
• Claim identification and preparation pursuant to the clauses of the Contract.
• Handling contractual issues of physically closed contracts for minimization of losses and maximization of profit for the organization.
• Supporting legal team for dispute resolution.
