Role Summary
The Contracts Engineer is responsible for managing, administering, and monitoring project contracts to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company policies. This role supports project execution by reviewing contract terms, preparing documentation, coordinating with stakeholders, and mitigating contractual risks. The Contracts Engineer plays a critical role in ensuring contracts are clear, enforceable, and aligned with project objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Review, interpret, and administer contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and agreements.
- Support contract negotiation and modification processes in coordination with legal and project teams.
- Monitor compliance with contractual terms and conditions by all parties.
- Maintain a contract register and ensure all contractual documents are properly archived.
- Assist in preparing claims, variations, and change orders.
- Liaise with procurement, project management, engineering, and finance teams for contract-related issues.
- Ensure timely submission of contractual documentation to clients and stakeholders.
- Identify contractual risks, propose mitigation measures, and advise project management.
- Support audits and client reviews with required contract documentation.
- Prepare reports on contract performance, variations, and claims.
Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Law, Business Administration, or related field.
- Professional certifications in contracts, procurement, or project management (e.g., CPCM, PMP) are desirable.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in contracts management, contract administration, or project controls in EPC, construction, or industrial projects.
- Knowledge of international contracts standards (FIDIC, NEC, or AIA) preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office and contract management software.
