Job description

Role & responsibilities

The PMC Contract and Procurement Lead will manage the commercial lifecycle of a GW solar and integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project. This role requires an expert commercial strategist who can audit the EPC contractors procurement pipelines, evaluate change orders with iron-clad contractual backing, and lead dispute resolution and forensic claim analyses to prevent budget blowouts.

Minimum Experience

Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive experience in contract management, procurement, and commercial project controls within heavy infrastructure or the utility power sector. Minimum 4+ years of direct commercial/contracts experience working on the PMC or Owner's Engineer side for mega-scale solar power projects (300MW+). Prior experience managing multi-cluster contracts within major Indian solar parks is highly desirable.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil/ Electrical/ Mechanical) coupled with a Post Graduate Diploma/Degree in Construction Management, Supply Chain, or Law. Certifications from recognized institutions like MRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or IACCM/WorldCC are highly advantageous.

Overview

Administer Solar package contractual/procurement governance and support Client decisions on change, payment and delivery-related contractual matters.

Accountability Boundary

Handles package contractual and procurement-compliance administration; SCM tracks physical supply movement and QS validates measured quantities.

Core Duties & Responsibilities

• Track package contractual obligations, correspondence, notices, change events, variations, claims-support records and procurement-related commercial issues.
• Review procurement inspection/release documentation such as MDCC/IRN status in accordance with agreed Client procedures.
• Coordinate with SCM for delivery facts, Planning for schedule effects and QS for certified quantity/payment evidence.
• Prepare package records for proposed variation assessments, payment recommendations and unresolved contractual risks.
• Maintain Solar commercial/action register and ensure formal communications are complete and traceable.
• Escalate entitlement or major commercial exposure to the PMO Contract & Commercial Lead.
