Qualifications

Registration with the medical council and valid licensing.

Responsibilities

Provide reconstructive, cosmetic, and restorative surgical care for patients with congenital conditions, trauma, burns, tumors, wounds and related issues.
Conduct comprehensive plastic surgery consultations and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage reconstructive and cosmetic conditions and develop individualized surgical plans.
Perform plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures within the scope of expertise.
Manage complex wounds, burns and soft-tissue injuries; plan pre- and post-operative care.
Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and specialists for patient care.
Counsel patients regarding procedures, risks, outcomes, and recovery.
Maintain thorough clinical and surgical documentation and supervise junior staff.
Participate in teaching, research, audits, and continuing medical education.

Job Description

The Consultant – Plastic Surgeon is responsible for providing reconstructive, cosmetic, and restorative surgical care for patients with congenital conditions, trauma, burns, tumors, wounds, and other tissue-related conditions.

Conduct comprehensive plastic surgery consultations and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage reconstructive and cosmetic surgical conditions.
Evaluate patients requiring reconstructive procedures following trauma, burns, tumors, or congenital abnormalities.
Develop individualized surgical treatment plans.
Perform plastic, reconstructive, and cosmetic procedures within the scope of expertise.
Manage complex wounds, burns, and soft-tissue injuries.
Perform pre-operative assessments and surgical planning.
Provide comprehensive post-operative care and monitor healing.
Manage surgical complications and wound-related problems.
Coordinate with oncologists, orthopedic surgeons, maxillofacial surgeons, dermatologists, anesthetists, and other specialists.
Counsel patients regarding procedures, expected outcomes, risks, and recovery.
Maintain accurate clinical and surgical documentation.
Supervise residents and junior medical staff.
Follow surgical safety, infection control, and patient care protocols.
Participate in multidisciplinary case discussions.
Support clinical audits, quality improvement, and accreditation activities.
Participate in teaching, research, and continuing medical education.
Stay updated with reconstructive and aesthetic surgical techniques.
Ensure appropriate follow-up and rehabilitation after procedures.
Perform additional duties assigned by the Head of Plastic Surgery or Medical Superintendent.
