Job summary

Shrimad Rajchandra Hospital & Research Centre is seeking an Operation Theatre (OT) Nurse to join our surgical team in Dharampur, Valsad. You will prepare the operating theatre, assist surgeons and anesthesiologists, manage instruments, and ensure sterile conditions for safe patient care.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare the operation theatre for scheduled surgical procedures.
  • Verify patient identity, consent forms, and surgical site before surgery.
  • Assist surgeons, anesthesiologists, and the surgical team during operations.
  • Prepare, sterilize, and arrange surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
  • Maintain strict aseptic techniques and infection prevention protocols.
  • Monitor patient condition before, during, and immediately after surgery.
  • Perform instrument, sponge, and needle counts before and after procedures.
  • Assist in patient positioning and safe transfer to and from the operating room.
  • Document intraoperative nursing care and surgical records accurately.
  • Coordinate with surgeons, anesthesia, CSSD, ICU, laboratory, and recovery room staff.
  • Ensure proper handling and labeling of surgical specimens.
  • Monitor the functionality of OT equipment and report maintenance issues.
  • Respond promptly to intraoperative emergencies and support resuscitation efforts.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with hospital policies and nursing standards.
  • Deliver safe, efficient, and patient-centered perioperative care.
