Responsibilities

• Provide medical cover, routine and emergency during duty.
• Assist consultants in the operation theatre.
• Supervise daily clinical management of patients.
• Ensure complete patient reports and documentation.
• Assist consultants in surgeries and in the operation theatre under supervision.
• Identify complex surgical problems and act appropriately in emergencies with permission of the treating consultant.
• Supervise daily clinical management of patients with RMOs and under Consultants' guidance.
• Ensure patient reports and consents for surgery and procedures are complete and documented.
• Maintain clear communication with patients, families, colleagues, and other health care workers.
• Prepare treatment sheets with diagnosis, dated and signed by the writing doctor; refer to progress notes.
• Attend rounds with Consultants and follow up patients for ongoing care.
• Adhere to on-call and duty rosters as department requirements.

Overview

Associate Consultant / Senior Associate Consultant - Plastic Surgery at Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. MBBS and MS/DNB/MD/MCH/DM (Plastic Surgery) are required.

Responsibilities

• A professional approach must be adapted with all patients, staff and visitors.
• Provide medical cover, routine and emergency, during hours of duty and work in conjunction with other specialties to serve the institute.
• Follow all clinical safety, hygiene, infection control protocols (eg wearing gloves when required, aprons, hand hygiene, etc).
• Be willing and available to see patients when required or requested.
• Assist consultants in the operation theatre and can assist in surgeries under supervision of consultants.
• Identify complex surgical problems and take appropriate action in emergencies with permission by treating consultant.
• Supervise the daily clinical management of all patients in conjunction with RMOs and under the guidance of Consultants.
• Ensure that patient reports and documentation are complete and consents for surgery and procedures are taken.
• Maintain effective communication with patients, family, colleagues and other health care workers.
• Prepare treatment sheets with diagnosis in capital letters when required; each sheet should be dated, named, and signed by the writing doctor; refer to progress notes.
• Accompany respective Consultants for rounds and follow up patients for further care (changes in plan of treatment).
• Follow on-call and duty rota based on department requirements.
