Job summary

Kiya.ai seeks a payroll testing expert to execute SIT/UAT, regression, and parallel testing for SAP ECP and to validate end-to-end gross-to-net payroll processes. The role involves tax calculations, wage type validation, EC-to-ECP integration, Payroll-to-Bank and Payroll-to-GL interfaces, and multi-state scenarios.

You will coordinate with SAP Payroll and SuccessFactors EC teams, manage test data, and report risks and defects.

Responsibilities

• Execute SIT, UAT, regression, parallel testing, and payroll validation for SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Prepare, review, and execute US Payroll test scenarios, test cases, and test scripts.
• Validate end-to-end gross-to-net payroll calculations, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and net pay.
• Test federal, state, and local tax calculations using BSI TaxFactory.
• Validate wage types, payroll schemas/PCRs, payroll control records, and payroll logs.
• Perform EC-to-ECP integration testing, including employee master data, compensation, organizational, position, and job data replication.
• Test Payroll-to-Bank interfaces, including ACH/NACHA files and payment processing.
• Validate Payroll-to-GL integration and ensure accurate financial postings.
• Test Time-to-Payroll interfaces and third-party payroll/vendor integrations.
• Execute scenarios involving garnishments, retroactive payroll, off-cycle payroll, adjustments, and corrections.
• Support parallel payroll runs by comparing legacy payroll results against ECP results and identifying variances.
• Analyze payroll discrepancies and assist functional/technical teams with root-cause identification.
• Execute multi-state US payroll scenarios, including state and local tax variations where applicable.
• Perform year-end payroll testing, including W-2 and W-2c validation.
• Log, prioritize, track, and retest defects using JIRA, HP ALM/Quality Center, Azure DevOps, or equivalent tools.
• Document defects with complete payroll context, including employee population, pay period, wage types, expected vs. actual results, and replication steps.
• Review test scripts and identify test coverage gaps, missing scenarios, and data dependencies.
• Prepare and maintain test data and employee populations required for payroll testing.
• Coordinate with SAP Payroll, SuccessFactors EC, integration, tax, banking, and business teams during test cycles.
• Provide regular test execution status, defect status, risks, and blockers to the Test Lead/Project Manager.
• Support defect triage meetings and coordinate with development/functional teams for timely resolution.
• Ensure all testing activities are completed within the defined test schedule and quality standards.
• Maintain proper test evidence, execution results, defect documentation, and testing reports.
